Student placements

Apply for a 2027-28 placement

We know that filling in endless application forms is the last thing you need when you’re looking for a placement, so we’ve made our application process as easy as possible.

To apply, just email your CV (2-3 pages) as a PDF to careers@fivium.co.uk with “Placement” in the subject line by 11:59pm on 8 November 2026.

That’s it. We'll be in touch to let you know if you’ve been shortlisted for an interview the week after applications close.

All applicants will need to demonstrate permanent eligibility to work in the UK during the application process. Unfortunately, we're not able to sponsor applicants without the permanent right to work in the UK. Because we work with government customers you'll also need to pass a BPSS security check if you receive an offer.

What to include in your application

In your CV we’re looking for evidence of your passion for programming, along with a clear history of teamwork and solving real problems. It’s also useful if you include your first year marks.

There’s no need to include a cover letter, but we’d love to see any university or personal projects you can show us, for example on GitHub - just include a link in your CV. Please make sure it’s your own work; AI assistance is fine, but a fully vibe-coded project doesn’t show us your skills as a developer. A proper README is useful so that we know what your project's about, and if you can deploy it somewhere so we can try it out that's even better.

What happens next?

Short one-to-one interviews take place the week after applications close, then panel interviews a couple of weeks later. One-to-one interviews will be take place remotely, with panel interviews at our offices in central London.
